Winsford United Ladies F.C. 3 - 1 Warrington Wolverines (League Match 11/10/2015)

The Ladies secure their second win of the season against a very strong Warrington side.

Winsford Ladies were determined to add another win to their current seasons home unbeaten run of two games.  But it was the visitors who scored first.  The Ladies defintely took their time to get into the game and had to withstand nearly half an hour of pressure from a very persistant Warrington team.

However, the Ladies determination and resilience paid off when in the last 15 minutes of the first half, Winsford scored three goals.  The first goal came from a great passing move, ending with a well placed shot from Ceri Ogdon, tapping the ball in past the struggling keeper.  The second goal came from Amy Hughes, who struck a powerful shot from outside the Warrington 18 Yard box, with ball finishing in the bottom left hand corner.  And the third goal came from Jess Hickman, who scored with a cheeky, but well finished chip over the stranded keeper.

The second half was just an end to end battle, with both teams having plenty of chances to add to their respective goal tally.  Warrington even had a penalty towards the end of the match, but their striker just couldn't keep her cool and put the shot over the Winsford keepers cross bar.

A great win for the Ladies Team, securing 3 well deserved points and also breaking Warringtons hearts and their 2 year unbeaten record.  This was a great team performance from the Ladies, everyone gave 100% and some.
