Winsford Ladies F.C. 3 - 0 Glossop North End Ladies F.C. (League Match)

Barton Stadium, home to the Winsford Ladies Team saw its second home fixture of the 2009/2010 Season, against Glossop North End Ladies F.C.

The ladies team new that it wasn't going to be an easy match against Glossop North End, as they had lost all of the their 4 previous matches. So they were up for spoiling Winsford's fantastic start to the season. Unfortunately, from a spectators point of view, the first half was not a pretty game to watch from the side lines.

The ladies team just couldn't seem to put more than 2 passes together, or get a shot on target, although we had quite a few. However, following the team talk at half time with the Management, the Ladies Team started the second half much better and their efforts were rewarded early on with a goal from Ashleigh Kerr.

Which was then closely followed by a second goal from Sarah Lee. Winsford continued to apply pressure on the Glossop defence, with shot after shot being saved by the Glossop keeper, who definitely kept the score line looking respectable.

The Ladies Team found it difficult to break down the Glossop defence, as they played most of the second half camped out in their own half, with 10 players behind the ball. It was Kathryn Hulme, who broke through to score our third and final goal of the game. Kathryn had pushed up the pitch from her normal Left Back position and scored a cracking headed goal from a lovely cross from Vicky Jones out on the left wing.

In the end, the 3 nil win by Winsford flattered the Glossop side, who didn't put up much of a fight, with only their keeper battling to keep them in the game, with some fine saves.
