Yet again Winsford fall at the final hurdle against Manchester Stingers, but this time it was in the league.
The ladies team were fired up for this League match against Manchester Stingers, as they knew that although they were beaten in the Preliminary Round of the Cup, just a couple of weeks ago, the final score was not a reflection of how the game went.
But unfortunately, on the day, the result was the same.
Winsford's opened the scoring with a goal from Kylie Kettle, when she picked the ball up on the edge of the 18-yard box and skillfully, took the ball past a defender and then slotted the ball home. The other two goals were scored by Danielle Lydiate and Sarah Lee.
Lydiate received the ball in the Stingers half and ran at their defence, taking the ball past two defenders and into the 18-yard box, before unleashing a sizzling shot giving the Stingers keeper no chance.
Winsford's third and final goal was expertly placed in the bottom corner by Lee. Vicky Jones ran onto a lovely ball down the left wing and crossed into the Stingers 18-yard box, for Lee to run onto.
Winsford's recent results, although disappointing do not show how well the Team has played and for most of the match they dominated the visitors.
